Sigiriya

Sigiriya Rock is also known as Lion Rock as the entrance to it was originally carved into a giant Lion and A UNESCO world heritage site it was originally used as a monastery, but in the second half of the 5th century it was turned into a royal residence by King Kasyapa.

    The Sri Maha Bodhi is a sacred shrine built around the southern branch of the sacred Bodhi tree which was planted in the 3rd Century BC.

  • Jethavanaramaya

    Built in 276-303 BC by King Mahasen, Jetavanarama is one of the tallest brick monuments in the world and contains sacred relics including gold folios containing sutras (scriptures) with Buddhist teachings, coins, ceramics and other artefacts.

Colombo

Colombo is the largest city and the financial and commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Situated on the west coast of the island, just south of the Kelani River, Colombo is a principal port of the Indian Ocean. It has one of the largest artificial harbours in the world and handles the majority of Sri Lanka’s foreign trade.

Kandy Lake is a lake in the heart of the city and located right next to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth. It is a man-made lake that was built in 1807 by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe, the last ruler of the Kingdom of Kandy.

What to expect
  • Sri Dalada Maligawa

    The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is one of the most important Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka. It houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha, which is believed to have been retrieved from the Buddha’s funeral pyre by one of his disciples.

  • Kandy Lake

    Kandy Lake is a lake in the heart of the city and located right next to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth. It is a man-made lake that was built in 1807 by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe, the last ruler of the Kingdom of Kandy.
